Noelis + Lady’s Story
Lady wasn’t always royalty. In 2014, she appeared in my Bronx backyard as a young, feral. Fierce, and untouchable — but also carrying a spark that pulled me in. She had her first kittens in my yard, and caring for her family changed everything.
One of the greatest gifts Lady gave me was my initiation into the feral cat community. I entered the world of rescue and became TNR certified, built winter cat shelters in my backyard, and cared for an entire feral colony. Over the years I helped dozens of cats find safe forever homes, Though Lady, I But lady was the first. It has been a rewarding, often difficult road, and one I know I could only walk with help. From the cat community, from friends, from fellow rescuers. That’s what it’s always been about: helping each other, helping the kitties.
It’s always been easier for me to ask for help for a feral or a rescue — but not so easy for my own forever babies. Four years ago, Lady needed surgery, and it possible with the help of my friends 😽 (though it wasn’t as much as now).. Because of that support — that truly moving gesture — she’s been able to live four more happy, healthy years as the queen of Noelislandia.
Now, Lady faces a new challenge. And once again, I’m asking for your help to give her the care she needs.
